LikeCoin chain upgrade

• HKD 159,436 account payable to OurSky
• Proposal 51 which requests for 20,000,000 LIKE was rejected due to unreached quorum (39.x%/40%)
• Proposal 53 reduces the fund request to 15,000,000 LIKE. It is in voting period, has collected enough quorum and Yes votes and is expected to pass on 2022.08.04
• Since today, there is no further dev cost expected for a period of time. Tech subdao will take some time to collect opinions from the community.

Since the inception in March and till 2022.08.01 (included), Tech Subdao has:

  • total (assuming proposal 53 shall pass): 40,000,000 LIKE
• funded developments
  • OurSky – LikeCoin chain: HKD 534,625 (94 man-days)
    • LaiChiKok: like1 prefix, Cosmovisor – HKD 312,812.5 (55 man-days)
    • StarFerry: NFT – HKD 221,812.5 (39 man-days)
    • part of it was handed over from proposal 33 to Tech Subdao for management
  • OurSky – DAO revamp: HKD 642,688 (113 man-day)
  • Liker.Social – register ISCN: USD 545.28 (3 man-days)
  • LikeCoin faucet – 10,000 LIKE (for new users)

Evaluation

• chain development
  • both LaiChiKok and StarFerry upgrades are cost efficient
  • being the most fundamental piece of infrastructure, totally reasonable to be taken care of by Tech Subdao and community pool
• dao.like.co revamp
  • under-estimated the cost and time needed. “Cost-performance ratio” is lower than chain development.
  • only managed to launch phase 1 with features on par with the existing dao.like.co, though with better interface and minor feature enhancements
  • whenever possible, better leverage on partnership with parties like Mintscan and Big Dipper
  • with the expected support of LikeCoin chain from Mintscan and Cosmostation, revamp of dao.like.co is suspended for now
  • further maintenance will be taken up by Liker Land (limited resources due to voluntary nature)
• Liker.Social ISCN registration
  • very cost efficient
